Ashley Le Quere

Ashley Le Quere is a London based freelance Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator, specializing in handmade patterns, obsessed with screen printing and is a self confessed crazy cat lady!

Ashley Le Queres style is very narrative, is usually drawn to flora and fauna and she has a huge love for brush lettering! In her collection for Talented Ashley has turned her hand to illustrating a collection of Winter Woollies for us!

Ashley Le Queres body of work covers a wide range of media from children’s sleeping bags, editorial illustration, brush lettering and now tote bags! Her work tends to focus on fun and uplifting designs, always experimenting with colour and texture. She loves to create her illustrations and patterns by hand, using her favorite paint brush or dip pen and ink. She always reaches for her pencil or paintbrush rather than the computer! Which means each pattern or illustration is completely unique and handmade.

Tell us a bit about your Talented range – how would you describe your style?
I would describe my talented range as cozy. I created my talented range with my paintbrush and ink so I think it has a relaxed feel.

What inspires you?
I think travel inspires me most. Seeing different cultures and design techniques is amazing! Also seeing the different landscapes, plants and animals I find a lot of inspiration from flora and fauna.

What’s the best thing about showcasing your artwork on a bag?
For me the best thing about having my artwork on a bag is that everyone needs one! Its always such a pleasure to see my work being loved and worn by people!

What else do you do outside of Talented? And in your spare time?
I am a creative in house for a lovely home wares and stationery company, also take on freelance illustrations and pattern design.

In my spare time I love to travel whether its across the other side of the world or exploring the U.K, I cant get enough of exploring!

What’s next for you?
I have a range of vintage inspired luggage travel stickers (like Paddington bear used to have on his suitcase!) coming out in March! Keep your eyes out on my online shop!
